WASP.ed Wellbeing Family Counselling & Psychotherapy in Glasgow

SUPERVISION AND QUALIFICATIONS

I provide supervision for practitioners in all my practice areas and welcome professionals from education, childcare, mental health and social work backgrounds. I am approved as a Supervisor by Play Therapy UK.

My qualifications include: B.Ed M.Phil MA (Integrative Psychotherapy); Diploma in Supervision; Advanced Diploma in Education (SEN); CSAP(Certificate of study in Adlerian Psychology), Introductory Certificate in an Adlerian Approach to Family Counselling. I am currently studying for a Ph.D. with the University of Cumbria. The focus of my research is practitioner effectiveness.

My academic qualifications and extensive experience of working with children and families has enabled me to become an expert in my field. I am available to support children and families by providing professional expert witness reports based on clinical assessments with international standing and standardised educational assessments as required. I take the information gathered from a series of objective sources to validate all my reports, to arrive at well informed opinions. Children and young people's emotional health and wellbeing is at the forefront of all I do. This is a growing area of my work.

I am writing a series of books that are designed to enable adults to view the world from a child's eye view and link their new understanding to the personality choices they made in early childhood which guide their actions in the present. Each book looks at a key aspect of early childhood development; personality formation, learning for life and living and building resiliency. I will shortly be publishing a pre-publication pamphlet designed to give adults a flavour of the ingredients for transforming past patterns of behaviour in their lives that they are dissatisfied with. This pamphlet is called: Appreciating the Power of the Child Within You based on the conclusions I reached through life long personal and professional learning around families, children, young people and adults; across generations and culminating in writing the three books.

I am a registered, practitioner member of COSCA. COSCA's Register is accredited by the Professional Standards Authority. I am also a member of ASIIP and NASAP. I continue to appear on UKCP accredited register and my Member Organisation is The Sherwood Institute. I am also a member of the Dru Professional Network . I abide by the codes of ethics of professional bodies with whom I am a member. Details of the complaints process for each is available on the links provided here, should that be required.

I have a belief in, and commitment to, lifelong learning and keep myself at the forefront of developments in therapy, education, Occupational Health and HR related topics.

I am also an Accredited Trainer from the CCDU The University of Leeds and Derbyshire County Council Accreditation of Trainers Scheme
